Attorney Brian K. Jones

Brian K. Jones

Brian K. Jones is a lawyer with Jones & Sasnett, P.A., and a founding partner in the firm.

Born in Washington, North Carolina, Jones completed his undergraduate studies at East Carolina University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice in 1994. After completing his Juris Doctor at the North Carolina Central University School of Law in 2002, he was admitted to the North Carolina State Bar the same year.

Jones has a reputation for providing hard-nosed representation for those with challenging legal matters. Much of his practice is devoted to criminal defense, in matters ranging from homicide cases to all other felonious offenses in Superior Court. He regularly handles impaired driving offenses and other alcohol-related offenses, domestic violence allegations and assaults, and every misdemeanor and traffic offense within the jurisdiction of North Carolina’s trial courts.

In addition to criminal defense, Jones accepts cases involving civil litigation and often represents parents in child custody matters. He has represented individuals before administrative agencies, assisting clients with cases before the N.C. Office of Administrative Hearings, the N.C. Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission and the N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles.

Jones is active in the communities the firm serves, having worked in various capacities with non-profit organizations and for several years as a certified instructor, teaching Search & Seizure in the N.C. Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) program. 

Jones and his wife reside in Wilmington with their three children.

Amanda D. Sasnett

Amanda D. Sasnett is a lawyer and partner with Jones & Sasnett, PA. 

Born in Florence, South Carolina, she moved to eastern North Carolina at a young age and grew up on her family’s farm near Pinetown, North Carolina. Amanda completed her undergraduate studies at East Carolina University where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Family and Community Services with a minor in Sociology and Family Studies. Amanda earned her Juris Doctor at Charlotte School of Law in 2015, where she graduated summa cum laude. She was admitted to the North Carolina State Bar the same year. 

Amanda has made it a point in her career to become well versed in different areas of law in an effort to provide comprehensive representation to her clients. Much of her practice is devoted to the creation, retention, and protection of familial assets, which encompasses real estate closings, estate planning, pre and post marital agreements, separation and property settlement agreements, and equitable distribution and alimony cases in the event of divorce. In addition to real estate, estate planning, and family law matters, Amanda serves as counsel for local municipalities and corporations. 

Amanda is passionate about giving back to her local community, the same community that voted her as one of Washington’s Favorite Attorneys in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022 in the "Best of the Pamlico" contest held by the Washington Daily News. She has served on the Board of Directors for InnerBanks Legal Services since its creation in 2017. She was nominated to serve as Secretary/Treasurer of the Second Judicial District Bar in 2016 and served in that capacity until 2021. Amanda serves on the Advisory Council for the Boys and Girls Club of the Coastal Plains. Of all of her roles, the role most dear to her heart is sitting on the Scholarship Selection Committee for the Reid Sasnett Memorial Scholarship.

Amanda resides in Washington, NC with her son.

Alex Neal

Ian Alexander "Alex" Neal is a lawyer with Jones & Sasnett, P.A.

Ian Alexander “Alex” Neal was born and raised in Lumberton, NC where he graduated from Lumberton Senior High School. In 2011, Alex graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts in Peace, War, and Defense with a concentration in National and International Defense and Security. Alex later received his Juris Doctor from Charlotte School of Law, graduating magna cum laude in 2015 and was admitted to the North Carolina State Bar the same year. Alex is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association.

In addition to his practice of law, Alex is an avid outdoorsman and sports fan of the North Carolina Tar Heels and the Carolina Panthers. 

Alex resides in Greenville, NC, but his heart remains in Chapel Hill.

Kelyn Brame

Kelyn Brame is a lawyer with Jones & Sasnett, P.A.

Brame was born and raised in Wilmington, North Carolina where she graduated from Hoggard High School. In 2012, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Kelyn received her Juris Doctor from Charlotte School of law, graduating in 2017 and was admitted to the North Carolina State Bar the following year. Kelyn is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association.

Brame is working in several of the firm’s practice areas, with a focus on real estate transactions and representing clients in residential closings and deed preparation. Also, she represents clients in domestic matters and has experience in criminal and traffic defense. 

Kelyn resides in Wilmington, NC with her fur baby, Wren. 


Kendall Alligood

Kendall Alligood is a lawyer with Jones & Sasnett, P.A.

Alligood was born and raised in Washington, North Carolina where she graduated Northside High School. In 2020, she earned her Bachelors degree from East Carolina University. Kendall received her Juris Doctor from North Carolina Central University, and was admitted to the North Carolina State Bar in 2023. 

Kendall is assisting clients in several of the firm's practice areas, but focuses her time on domestic matters and all issues related to domestic cases, including real estate, estate planning, and criminal defense. 

In her spare time, Kendall gives back to her community by coaching local youth in softball, a long time passion of hers.
